Sunderland have made their seventh summer signing by acquiring the services of Manchester United right-back Wes Brown, the club said. The 31-year-old Brown, a long-serving United player, completed an undisclosed move to the Stadium of Light and is expected to be followed for former teammate John O'Shea, who can also play on the right. Sunderland boss Steve Bruce used to deploy Ahmed Elmohamady as a right back at times but has been mostly relying on the Egypt full-back as a wide midfielder. Former United full-back Phil Bardsley was the Black Cats' first-choice right back during last season, which saw the team finish 10th of the English Premier League.
