Veteran Egypt goalkeeper Essam Al-Hadari completed his move from Zamalek to Sudanese giants Merreikh on Sunday. Al-Hadari penned a three-year deal with Merreikh to end a brief and unhappy spell with Zamalek, the club he joined in the close season. "Merreikh will hold a news conference on Monday to announce the full details of the deal," he told Modern Kora. "I will do my best to live up to the expectations of Merreikh fans. I'm determined to prove that I'm still the best keeper in Egypt and Africa. "I'm also happy that I will play under (Egyptian goalkeeping coach) Ahmed Nagi and (former Ahli boss) Hossam Al-Badri." Al-Hadari has been anything but settled since abruptly leaving Ahli to join Swiss side Sion in February 2008. He then moved to Ismaili but left after just one season. His six-month tenure with Zamalek was also blighted by consistent off-field problems and disputes with the club's board, which accepted a $700,000 offer from Merreikh despite initially asking for $1 million to loan him out. Al-Hadari remains Egypt's number one keeper but Zamalek's Abdul-Wahed Al-Sayed overtook him recently after he was handed a four-month ban by world governing body FIFA for violating his contract with Ahli to fly to Switzerland.
