Abd-Rabou rubbishes Ahli link
Published in FilGoal on 04 - 12 - 2010

Ismaili midfielder Hosni Abd-Rabou refuted reports claiming that he had signed for Ahli after falling out with the coastal club's board of directors.
The Egypt ace had 10% of his yearly salary deducted by Ismaili after he insulted some of the club's officials during a board meeting in July for failing to allocate the money needed for him to undergo a knee operation in Germany.
Shortly afterwards, he stressed that he has no plans to part company with the Dervishes despite his disagreement with the board.
Recently, however, media reports suggested that Abd-Rabou, who was nursing a cruciate ligament injury he sustained in a pre-season friendly, had penned a contract with Ismaili's bitter rivals Ahli.
But Abd-Rabou categorically denied the allegation.
"I swear to God I didn't sign for Ahli or any other club," the 26-year-old told FilGoal.com after returning in training on Saturday.
"Right now I'm trying to improve my match fitness and get fit to take part in friendly games before playing in competitive ones.
"When I regain my form I will start thinking about my future and whether or not I'll extend my stay at Ismaili."
Abb-Rabou, whose current contract runs out in the summer, hasn't been offered yet a new deal by Ismaili, which prompted speculation over his future.
"The only problem I have these days is that Ismaili's officials ignore me, and honestly I'm sick and tired of complaining," he explained
"I haven't been told till now how I will get my overdue payments."
It's understood that Ismaili are facing a financial predicament as the tax department has frozen their bank accounts.
Ahli were once close to securing Abd-Rabou's services in 2007 but the holding midfielder backed out of the deal after a host Ismaili fans allegedly threatened to kill his family.
