Egypt and Ismaili midfielder Hosni Abd-Rabou is traveling to Germany on Monday in order to undergo knee surgery as his cruciate ligament problem has been confirmed. The 25-year-old was injured during a friendly with Ismaili. He was initially diagnosed with a cruciate ligament tear. The coastal club sent Abd-Rabou's knee scans to Germany to verify the diagnosis because the Egypt midfielder feels no acute pain in his knee. The injury was eventually confirmed and now the former Strasbourg man is set to go under the knife. "An appointment with the German surgeon has already been made," Ismaili chief doctor Magdi Al-Baz told FilGoal.com. "Abd-Rabou will undergo an operation on Monday as his injury has been confirmed." Ismaili are preparing for their CAF Champions League clash with Algeria's JS Kabylie on Sunday. Coach Mark Wotte is confident that he will find the suitable replacement for Abd-Rabou, who picked up his knee injury right after rejoining the Dervishes following a two-year loan spell at Ahli Dubai. "It's a blow of course but I will find the right player to fill the void before Sunday's game," Wotte said. "We are ready for the match."
