Emad Meteb has successfully undergone a medical at Standard Liege, his agent Nader Shawki said. Meteb arrived in Belgium on Tuesday and by passing the medical, he is officially a Standard player. He will be given the number 10 jersey, which he is used to wearing with Egypt, at Standard. The international striker signed for Standard on a two-year contract as he became the fourth Egyptian to play in the Belgian League. He follows into the footsteps of Mido, Tarek Al-Saied and Ahmed Hassan. Egyptian-owned club Lierse were promoted to the first division in Belgium this season and they have several Egyptian players. Right-back Ahmed Samir and left-winger Mohamed Abdul-Wahed leading the contingent.
