Egypt striker Emad Meteb is set to undergo a medical at Standard Liege on Wednesday and then complete his move to the Belgian outfit. The 27-year-old was supposed to arrive in Belgium on Monday but his flight was abruptly postponed when the engine of the plane he was going to board broke down. Meteb, who also could not issue his visa on time, reached his destination a couple of days later. Standard voiced their disgruntlement with the international hitman's delay but now he is poised to seal the deal. "We are finally here in Belgium after facing a lot of setbacks," agent Nader Shawki, who is accompanying Meteb during his trip, told FilGoal.com. "We headed to Liege right away and Meteb should undergo a medical on Wednesday morning." Meteb penned a pre-contract with Standard after his deal with Egyptian champions Ahli ran out in the close season. The Red Devils exerted serious efforts to keep hold of him but he insists to experience European football. Meteb stated that he may ponder a new deal with Ahli only if he encounters problems at the Liege-based club.
