Roma suffered their first Serie A defeat in 25 games after losing 2-1 at home to Sampdoria on Sunday to surrender top spot to holders Inter Milan. The hosts, seeking to win their first league title since 2001, took the lead through a goal from Francesco Totti after 14 minutes. Giampaolo Pazzini scored twice in the second half to give Sampdoria a shocking win and prevent Roma from regaining their position on top of the table. Inter beat Atalanta 3-1 on Saturday to move two points clear of Roma with three matches remaining. The Nerazzurri are chasing a fifth consecutive league title and the second one under Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho.
