Gouna goalie Sherif Ekrami suffered minor foot damage in his side's 1-0 loss to ENPPI in a friendly match on Monday. The Ahli-target custodian limped off in the first half after sustaining the injury, and now he needs a week on the sidelines to recover, Gouna chief medic Adel Hadad revealed. Abdo Shaban was sent in after Ekrami, who put in a host of impressive performances of late, was injured. The 26-year-old, who came through Ahli's youth ranks, is understood to be eyed by his former club, and the Red Devils should table a bid in the January transfer window. Ekrami is admittedly willing to return to the Cairo club, despite both parties' failure to agree terms of a transfer last summer. Gouna have to give Ekrami the thumb up to leave in the winter, as his contract will still be valid at the time. Otherwise, a EGP 1,5 million release clause would have to be paid in order for the former Feyenoord keeper to depart.
