Sampdoria went top of the Serie A after claiming a surprise 1-0 home victory over holders Inter Milan on Saturday. In-form striker Giampaolo Pazzini scored the winner in the 72nd minute to take his tally to four goals in six games. He side-footed a low cross from Daniele Mannini past Inter's Brazilian goalkeeper Julio Cesar. "It was a very important goal in front of this full house. We're top. It's a great night," Pazzini told Sky television after the game. Substitute Ricardo Quaresma thought he had equalized for the visitors late in the game but his strike was ruled out for offside. Sampdoria, who made superb start to their Serie A campaign, have 15 points from six matches, two ahead of second-placed Milan. Juventus can regain their position on top if they beat Bologna at home on Sunday. Watch the game's highlights
