Playmaker Alaa Ali said on Sunday he turned down an offer from Zamalek to renew his contract for five years. "They offered me EGP 300,000 per season but this amount is not suitable for me," Ali told FilGoal.com. "I'm fully committed to Zamalek and I do not want to leave but I should be on equal terms with the other youth players." Hazem Emam, a lively 21-year-old right-back, has recently extended his deal until 2014. He will earn EGP 400,000 per season. Midfielder Ahmed Al-Merghani was offered a similar deal but he is still reluctant to accept it. "I was promoted to the first team before Emam and Al-Merghani but I do not wish to earn more money than them, I just want the club to value me in the same way they valued them," Ali added. Ali, Emam and Al-Merghani came to Zamalek's rescue last season when the team faced the unthinkable prospect of being relegated to the second division to earn plaudits for a string of impressive displays. Emam, who was also called up to Egypt's squad, is still playing week-in, week-out for the Cairo giants but Al-Merghani lost his regular spot. Ali has yet to make his first appearance this term. He saw his place taken by Shikabala and newly-signed midfielder Remi Adiko.
