Sion announced that they have received an official letter from FIFA informing the club that keeper Essam Al-Hadari has been suspended for four months. The Swiss club confirmed on their official website that they will be appealing FIFA's decision to suspend the Egyptian guardian. Al-Hadari joined Sion in February 2008 without the consent of his former club Ahli. He was suspended as a result and Sion were handed a fine of 900,000 Euros in addition to banning the club from signing any players for two transfer windows. If Al-Hadari and Sion lose the appeal, the goalie will be required to serve the suspension starting next season. The 36-year-old is currently with the Egypt squad, which will face Algeria and play in the Confederations Cup.
