Petrojet failed to get back to winning ways on Tuesday after slumping to a 3-1 home loss to Masri in the Egyptian Premier League. Ahmed Shedid broke the deadlock on 25 minutes, and Ahmed Fawzi doubled Masri's lead two minutes from the hour mark. On 69 minutes, Mohamed Al-Gabbas added the third for the Port Said club, before Mohamed Koffi notched a last minute consolation goal for the home side. Having won the game, seventh-placed Masri cemented their position with 29 points. Petrojet, whose title hopes have been further dented with a four-match winless streak, lie fourth with 36. Out-of-Sorts Petrojet, who were earlier perceived as title contenders, were clearly out-of-sorts and their attacks lacked organization. Wide men Al-Sayed Hamdi and Amr Hassan were trying to make an impact from the right flank, but they couldn't come close to scoring. Masri were dangerous on the counter-attack, and in-form duo Fawzi and Al-Gabbas posed a great deal of threat on the petroleum side. Former Ahli winger Shedid fired Masri ahead when his curling corner-kick landed directly into the net. Petrojet's Hassan Gomaa was about to bring the score level on 45 minutes after connecting with Hassan's right-wing cross, but the crossbar denied his effort. The coastal side kept the upper hand over the second period, while Pertojet tried in vain to redeem themselves.
Telecom salvage one point Fawzi ensured Masri's superiority after cunningly chipping over goalie Ibrahim Abdul-Gawad, who was awkwardly-positioned. Masri guardian George Owu competently denied Ahmed Shaaban's fierce drive on 60 minutes to keep his team's two-goal advantage. Koffi was adjudged to have fouled Ibrahim Al-Hilali in the penalty area, and Al-Gabbas scored Masri's third after converting the spot-kick. The left post prevented Petrojet from pulling one back when Hamdi released a powerful shot on 73 minutes. Masri's Mohamed Hafez was sent off for his harsh challenge on Mahmoud Abdul-Hakim three minutes from time. Koffi headed home in injury time, thanks to Abdul-Hakim's inch-perfect cross. Hat-Trick Elsewhere, Telecom Egypt and Tersana played out an exciting 3-3 draw that saw Ahmed Omran bag a hat-trick. Hani Hassan scored the opener for the Hammers on four minutes, and Omran cancelled out their slender lead ten minutes later. The 26-year-old midfielder put the hosts ahead on 69 minutes, but seconds later Amr Samaka netted an equalizer for Tersana. On 74 minutes, Medhat Ramadan restored the away side's lead, but Omran hit a leveler three minutes from time. Watch Petrojet vs. Masri goals
