Abdul-Aziz decides to stay at Zamalek
Published in FilGoal on 16 - 01 - 2009

Skipper Ayman Abdul-Aziz has backtracked on his decision to quit Zamalek in the January transfer window after.
The defensive midfielder's agent recently said his client was close to joining Turkish side Konyaspor.
Abdul-Aziz, who rejoined Zamalek in the close season after spending nine years in the Turkish Super Lig, made no secret of his desire to leave Zamalek after falling out with interim coach Ahmed Refaat and his assistant Ahmed Ramzi.
The duo handed in their resignation after Swiss coach Michel Decastel took over at the Cairo giants, prompting Abdul-Aziz to have a change of heart.
"I have no reason now to depart after Refaat and Ramzi left the club," the 30-year-old told FilGoal.com on Thursday.
"The terrible work of those two resulted in Zamalek enduring an extended run of poor form."
Abdul-Aziz was punished when he refused to sit on bench during an Egyptian League match against Harras Hodoud.
He was fined and stripped off the skipper's armband before regaining it later on.
"I want to stay at Zamalek after the appointment of Decastel."
"He has a strong personality and it seems that the players will also benefit from his tactics," Abdul-Aziz concluded.
