Atletico Madrid will take their stadium ban case to Court of Arbitration for Sport after rejecting UEFA's response to their recent appeal. The Primera Liga side's appeal against their initial two-match stadium ban in the Champions League saw UEFA cutting it to one match without spectators. However, Atletico were still unsatisfied by the verdict as they are not convinced by the basis of the decision. "Atletico will fight for their innocence until the very end. There has been a reduction, but we don't agree with the manner in which the process has been conducted," director Clemente Villaverde told the club's website. "We will fight on to the next stage, CAS. They haven't given us the detailed legal basis for their decision yet. But there seems to be a change of emphasis with the committee now giving more importance to the racist chants." The ban was originally imposed as a result of the racist chants of Atletico's fans in the 2-1 win over Marseille last month, which led to further dispute between both teams' supporters at Vicente Calderon. Los Indios will visit Liverpool on Tuesday, as both teams jointly lead Group D with seven points.
