Real Madrid coach Bernd Schuster laughed off reports of punishing Sergio Ramos in the Madridistas 3-2 win over Athletic Bilbao on Sunday. Ramos has publicly voiced his discomfort with his right-flank position in Schuster's selection prior to the game, which he eventually sat out. It was thought that the Spain full-back was sanctioned as a result of his public outburst, but Schuster cooled down the situation. "It was everything but a punishment," the German tactician replied when asked if Ramos' omission was technical or disciplinary. Ramos has been a regular for Real ever since joining from Sevilla in 2005, but Schuster switched his position from center-half to right-back last season.
