Zamalek striker Junior Agogo scored to help Ghana crush Lesotho 3-0 and book their place in the final phase of the World Cup qualifiers. Agogo doubled Ghana's advantage in the 24th minute after Sulley Muntari put them in front five minutes earlier. Matthew Amoah wrapped up the precious victory seven minutes past the hour mark. Four-time African champions Ghana, who made their World Cup debut in 2006, ensured they wouldn't suffer an early exit from the ongoing qualifiers. They reached the final phase after finishing on top of Group five with 12 points, ahead of Gabon and Libya on goal difference. Libya, who occupied the summit before this round, astonishingly bowed out after slumping to a 1-0 defeat to Gabon, who have a good chance to progress as one of the best eight second-placed teams.
