Mohamed Zidan made his Dortmund debut but his side surrendered a one-goal lead to allow 10-man Bayern Munich claim a 1-1 draw in the Bundesliga on Saturday. Jakub Blaszczykowski needed nine minutes to put the hosts in front but substitute Tim Borowski secured a share of spoils 16 minutes from time. Bayern's stuttering start to the defense of their Bundesliga crown leaves them in tenth place on two points from two games. Dortmund, who defeated Bayer Leverkusen 3-2 in the league's opener, are fourth on four points. Thomas Doll's men went ahead as early as the ninth minute. Nelson Valdes laid off the ball for Blaszczykowski on the edge of the area. The Polish midfielder then smashed a powerful drive that went into the top corner of the net.
Bayern's hopes of equalizing were dealt a major blow when Dutch midfielder Mark van Bommel received his marching orders in the 23rd minute for a second bookable offense. Egyptian forward Zidan, who joined Dortmund from Hamburg, supported Paraguayan Valdez upfront. He put in a fine display and almost helped Dortmund extend their advantage one minute before the break. Zidan threaded a pass through for Valdez, whose hesitation helped Bayern defenders clear the danger. Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp took off the 26-year-old Zidan nine minutes past the hour mark and introduced Bajram Sadrijaj. Borowski leveled the score in the 74th minute with a close-range shot after Brazilian defender Lucio headed a corner into his path.
