Zamalek failed to assure their fans that they will be able to overcome the Cairo derby woes after being held to a goalless draw by Police Union on Wednesday. German coach Reiner Hollmann fielded two different line-ups in both halves of the match to asses his players' performances. Veteran striker Abdul-Halim Ali missed the game as he is still struggling with an ankle injury. Ghanaian frontman Junior Agogo did not also feature due to exhaustion. Zamalek got their season off to a disastrous start after two successive defeats to arch-rivals Ahli. The White Castle slumped to a 2-1 defeat to Ahli in the CAF Champions League group stage opener on July 13th. Just seven days later, Zamalek lost 2-0 against the Red Devils in the Egyptian Super Cup. The Egyptian Cup winners will be seeking consolation when they face Zimbabwe's Dynamos Harare in the Champions League on Sunday.
