Stuttgart denied on Friday that they agreed to sell striker Mario Gomez to German champions Bayern Munich. Three-time Bundesliga winners Stuttgart admitted that Bayern are interested in signing the German international. However, they insisted that Gomez is not for sale. "This afternoon, a meeting in order to exchange information took place between representatives of VfB and FC Bayern Munich," Stuttgart said in a statement on their website. "At the meeting, FC Bayern Munich expressed an interest in signing Mario Gomez. We explained to them that we will not be releasing Mario Gomez." Gomez is currently playing with Germany in EURO 2008. The Mannschaft qualified for the tournament's semi-final after defeating Portugal 3-2.
