Ismaili are set to discuss an offer from Qatari side Al-Rayan to sign Hosni Abd-Rabou on loan till the end of the season, the Egyptian club said on Tuesday. "We will consider the offer tonight," board member Sayed Al-Qammash told FilGoal.com. Al-Rayan chairman Saud Ben Naser told a press conference on Monday that he is "on the brink of signing Abd-Rabou." He added: "Abd-Rabou will join on loan till the end of the season. If he adjusted to our game, we will sign him on a permanent basis." But Al-Qammash hinted that Ismaili will probably turn down the Qatari bid. "We need Abd-Rabou during the rest of the (local) campaign," he said. Ismaili compete with Zamalek, Petrojet and Al-Gaish for the second place in the Egyptian League, which is virtually won by Ahli. The second-placed side qualify to the African Champions League. The potential move might also stumble due to Abd-Rabou's pending status as a legitimate Ismaili player. FIFA are yet to decide whether Abd-Rabou's contract belongs to Ismaili or French side Strasbourg. Abd-Rabou has been voted the best player in the African Cup of Nations earlier this year. He scored four times and featured in Egypt's six games towards the title.
