Czech midfielder Pavel Nedved is set to sign a one-year extension to his contract with Juventus and delay retirement for another season. Gazzetta dello Sport said on Tuesday that the 35-year old reached an agreement with Juve bosses over a contract extension. Nedved has already announced that he will hang up his boots next summer, but his brilliant performance with the Old Lady earned him a new offer. The report suggested that the 2003 Ballon d'Or winner may be seduced by the prospect of playing in the Champions League next season. However, Nedved will have to accept a pay cut to ink a new deal just like Paolo Paolo Maldini did with AC Milan. Nedved made more than 200 appearances for the Bianconeri since coming from Lazio in 2001, helping them clinch two Scudetto titles in 2002 and 2003.
