Werder Bremen moved level on points with Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich after claiming a 2-0 home victory over 10-man Nuremberg on Saturday. Nuremberg's hopes of giving new coach Thomas von Heesen a winning start suffered a major blow when Ivan Saenko picked up a second booking after 20 minutes. Bremen capitalized on their numerical advantage ten minutes later to go ahead through Markus Rosenberg. Croatian striker Ivan Klasnic sealed the victory nine minutes from time to help Bremen mount pressure on Bayern. Bayern, who are in charge of the table with 40 points, can go three points clear if they beat Hannover on Sunday.
