Inter Milan chairman Massimo Moratti admitted that coach Roberto Mancini could have lost his job in favor of Fabio Capello before the Nerazzurri Scudetto triumph last season. "It is true, last year I had given Capello some real thought,” Moratti told magazine 'Famiglia Cristiana.' "But then my faith in Mancini prevailed and it was a decision that thoroughly paid off." Capello led Juventus to the Serie A title the season before last, as Mancini's Inter finished third, but Juve were ripped off the title in favor of Inter after the infamous Calciopoli match fixing scandal. However, Mancio guided Inter to the Serie A title last season, after Capello left Juve for Real Madrid, where he clinched the Spanish Primera Liga title as well. But the Italian coach was surprisingly sacked by the Royal club in the summer, and he has been free since then.
