Mohamed Zidan's Hamburg suffered their first defeat in the Bundesliga after losing against Bochum 2-1 away from home on Friday. Stanislav Sestak opened the score on the stroke of half-time with a close-range shot before Hamburg's Belgian defender Vincent Kompany was sent-off on the hour mark to widen his side's misery. Daniel Imhof doubled the hosts' lead in the 83rd minute before Hamburg skipper Rafael van der Vaart pulled one back three minutes later from the penalty spot. However, Bochum held on to their lead to claim a precious victory. Egyptian forward Zidan started the game and had a brilliant solo effort in the first-half as he bamboozled three defenders inside the area but his shot hit the side netting. He was substituted three minutes past the hour mark, making way for Ivica Olic. Hamburg, who won their first two matches in the Bundesliga, are third in the table with six points, one short of second-placed Bochum.
