Former Zamalek star Ahmed Ramzi has rejected to take over as Zamalek caretaker coach until the club hires a new foreign coach in the upcoming weeks. Zamalek board appointed Ramzi after the surprise resignation of French manager Henri Michel on Sunday, but the former Egypt international made a swift u-turn without presenting specific reasons. The Cairo club is left in a critical situation as the new season in Egypt will kick off in less then a week time, with Zamalek facing Ismaili in the first week. However, it is claimed that former Holland star Ruud Krol is a strong candidate to take charge of Zamalek after the two parties agreed terms.
