Zamalek former coach Ruud Krol is tipped to return to the Cairo giants to replace departed Frenchman Henri Michel, FilGoal.com has learned on Monday. The Dutch manager has agreed in principle to take over at Zamalek after receiving a phone call from the club's chairman Mamdouh Abbas. Negotiations are ongoing between Krol and Abbas to conclude the deal, FilGoal.com understands. The 58-year-old has a plenty of experience in Egyptian football, having guided Egypt national team and Zamalek previously. Krol took charge of Egypt Olympic team in 1995 and led them to the Gold medal in Zimbabwe African Games before managing the senior national team during the 1996 African Cup of Nations in South Africa. He then managed Zamalek in the 1997/1998 season but failed to win any silverware. Krol's last managerial adventure was with French Ligue 2 side Ajaccio but he was sacked after the club finished in the 12th position. Ahmed Ramzi has been appointed as Zamalek's interim coach following the shocking resignation of Michel.
