Ismaili failed to snatch their first win in the CAF Confederation Cup group stage after they were held to a 1-1 away draw by Nigeria's Kwara United on Saturday. The hosts were ahead in the first-half but Mohamed Fadl managed to salvage a draw for Ismaili nine minutes past the hour mark. Ismaili squandered a host of chances to grab a precious win, with Mohamed Mohsen Abou-Greisha wasting an easy one-on-one opportunity. Ismaili, who drew 1-1 with Sudan's Al-Merrikh at home in the group stage opener, are second in Group B with two points, one adrift of leaders Dolphin FC, who take on Al-Merrikh later today. The Dervishes' chances to be the first Egyptian club in history to claim the trophy are fading as they have to top their group if they are to reach the Confederation Cup final.
