The final verdict in the case between Egypt striker Ahmed Hossam 'Mido' and former Al-E'lameyin player Mostafa Abdul-Rahim will be delayed until October 13th. Abdul-Rahim claimed in April that Mido made a deliberate tackle against him during a friendly game in 2004 between the Egyptian national team and the third division club. Mido's ill-fated challenge resulted in a complete damage in Abdul-Rahim's knee, leaving him with a torn cruciate ligament and interior ligament damage as well as a damaged knee cartilage. Consequently, the 28-year-old took legal action against the Premiership striker with the charge of deliberately causing a permanent injury, in an attempt to get adequate financial compensation. However, the court decided to delay the case until October 13th, to review further documents related to the case. Mido, who has just recently joined newly promoted Birmingham from Tottenham, persistently claimed that he provided Abdul-Rahim with the compensation he needed.
