Egyptian Football Association (EFA) president Samir Zaher said that Zamalek will be subjected to heavy fines if the club rejected to play in the Egyptian Super Cup clash against Ahli on August 9th. "Zamalek will be heavily fined if they insisted to pull out of the Super Cup game, but if they forfeited, Ismaili will take their place," Zaher told FilGoal.com. The Cairo club announced via their football director Ayman Mansour that they will pull out of the Super Cup game because the fixture date clashes with the team's pre-season program. However, an EGP 250,000 fine will be imposed on the league and cup runners-up, who were poised to face double champions Ahli. Zamalek were banned by the EFA from playing in last year's Super Cup with Ahli as well, after their players failed to show up at the stage in order to receive their second-place medals of the 2005-2006 Egyptian Cup final.
