Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho has taken a swing at the English FA and referee Graham Poll following his team's goalless draw against Manchester United on Wednesday. Mourinho was involved in a row with Poll on the sidelines after the break. The Portuguese tactician was agitated by the referee's decision not to red card United's winger Chris Eagles for a two-footed challenge on Shaun Wright-Phillips or Wes Brown for a challenge on Scott Sinclair. "I was telling Mr Poll a couple of things I have had in my heart since the Tottenham game at White Hart Lane. But it was nothing special. I was cleansing my soul," said Mourinho after the game. "With Mr Poll and Chelsea there are so many incidents. "We don't like to have Mr Poll. We have to accept decisions, but if you ask me if I jump with happiness when I know Mr Poll is our referee? No."
Mourinho thought that his words for Poll had earned him an ejection and withdrew to a seat behind the dug-out before returning moments later after realizing he had not been dismissed. "I thought I was being sent off but I wasn't. I walked to the stands but then my assistants were saying 'you can stay in your position',” he said. Mourinho also decided to give the FA a piece of his mind for rescheduling Chelsea's match against United so late in the season after the Red Devils had dethroned his side. "The Premiership is the best league in the world and they can't afford this kind of mistake," Mourinho said. "If we had played in the middle of April there would have been six or seven more matches to play." "This should be the game that every football fan around the world is eating on TV. But instead it was the kind of game that people change for a soap or something more interesting," said a sarcastic Mourinho.
