Zamalek striker Amr Zaki has been dropped from Egypt's squad facing Mauritania on Sunday in the African Cup of Nations qualifiers due to broken nose. Zaki suffered the injury during Zamalek's Arab Champions League clash against Ahli Jeddah earlier this month after being struck in face by Khaled Badra's knee. He was set to undergo a surgery right after the incident but he opted to delay it in order to take part in the Cairo giants' CAF Champions League match with Sudan's Hilal. "I'm sad to miss the game, I was ready to play but unfortunately I have to undergo the surgery now," Zaki told FilGoal.com on Friday. Egypt are on top of Group B with four points, one ahead Mauritania and Burundi, who lie second and third respectively.
