Ismaili thrashed helpless Ajesaia of Madagascar 6-1 at home on Sunday to advance to the CAF Confederation Cup round of 16 with an 8-3 aggregate score. The Dervishes will face Zambian side Green Buffaloes in the next round after the latter overcame St. Pauloise. Omar Gamal opened the score line in the 13th minute with a powerful right-footed shot from inside the area after being set-up by Ahmed Al-Gamal's low cross. In the 29th minute, Al-Gamal burst down the right-flank and provided another low cross for Mohamed Mohsen Abou-Greisha, who made no mistake from close range.
Moawad also netted twice Abou-Greisha was on the score sheet again four minutes before the interval when he headed home on the rebound after his initial shot was blocked by the keeper. Sayed Moawad killed off Ajesaia's hopes one minute later after he latched on to a through pass to beat the offside trap and slot home past the keeper. Gamal added the fifth in the 82nd minute after hitting a fierce shot into the bottom corner of the net from the edge of the area. Moawad completed the rout five minutes from time as he sent a left-footed strike into the back of the net from a tight angle. Ajesaia grabbed a late consolation from the penalty spot after a reckless challenge from Ismaili Jordanian keeper Amer Shafie.
