Ismaili thrash helpless Ittihad
Published in FilGoal on 07 - 12 - 2006

Mohamed Soliman ‘Hommos' scored twice to lead Ismaili to a thrashing 5-0 home victory over helpless Ittihad Alexandria in the Egyptian League on Friday.
Abdullah Saied, Eid Samir and Ahmed Fathi were also on the scoresheet to help Ismaili regain first place in the league table.
Ismaili are on top with 31 points, two ahead of second-placed Ahli who still have three games in hand while Ittihad lie eighth with 19 points.
Despite their fine start in the Egyptian League campaign, Ittihad's latest results are disappointing.
They failed to make up for their 2-1 loss to Zamalek and produced a disastrous performance against Ismaili.
Ismaili, who were eliminated from the Arab Champions League at the hands of Algeria's Ahli Bordj, were ahead through Hommos in the 34th minute.
The team's skipper towered to head Sayed Moawad's inch-perfect cross into the left top corner of the net.

Hommos turned to be provider five minutes later when he sent a cross from the right-flank that deceived Ittihad keeper and went into the path of Saied, who headed home into the unguarded net.
The 27-year-old Hommos killed-off Ittihad's hopes in the 74th minute when he capitalized on a goal-mouth scramble inside the area to slot home from close range before Samir added the fourth four minutes later with a glancing header.
Ittihad wasted an opportunity to score a consolation in the 86th minute when right-back Ahmed Saleh failed to convert a penalty into the net after Mohamed Nagui was brought down inside the area.
Fathi completed the rout two minutes from time after he fired a powerful drive at the near post from a tight angle.
Elsewhere, Petrojet came from behind to earn a 2-1 home victory over ENPPI.
Zeka Goory's goal for Petrojet in the 55th minute cancelled out Ahmed Abdul-Zaher's opener four minutes before the break.
Ahmed Abdul-Ghani sealed the victory three minutes before the final whistle.
