Chelsea have signed former Sweden goalkeeper Magnus Hedman till the end of the season, the Premiership champions said. The 33-year-old will be trailing Carlo Cudicini and Hilario in the pecking order and was signed to cover the absence of first-choice goalie Petr Cech, according to a statement issued by the club on Tuesday. Cech has undergone a surgery after fracturing his skull during a Premiership match against Reading and he was ruled out of action for the remaining of the campaign. Hedman, who has 50 international caps, enjoys knowledge of British game after playing for Coventry City and Glasgow Celtic.
