Bayern Munich goalkeeper Oliver Kahn may be ruled out of his side's game against AC Milan in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday due to injury, the Bavarians captain said. Kahn limped out of Bayern's 1-1 draw at Hanover 96 on Saturday with a bruised thigh after an aggressive challenge with striker Thomas Brdaric. "It's a nasty blow and very painful. I couldn't carry on. This is football, we contest every ball. These things happen," Kahn was quoted as saying by Bayern's official website on Sunday. Asked about his chances of playing the crucial Champions League match against Milan, Kahn said: "I can't say at the moment. I'll have to wait and see, and do what I can to be fit for Tuesday."
Meanwhile, Bayern boss Felix Magath said there is still some time to decide whether the charismatic shot-stopper will recuperate before the highly-anticipated game. "It's too early for a definite statement. We'll wait until tomorrow before estimating whether he'll be fit for Tuesday," Magath said. On the other hand Brdaric insisted that he never meant to get Kahn injured and hoped that he would recover from the injury in time for the Milan encounter. "It wasn't intentional, I lost my footing. I hope he's fit to face Milan," Brdaric said. Second-choice keeper Michael Rensing, who made his debut this season in the Saturday match, is expected to stand in for Kahn should he fail to recover in time for the game.
