Le président de la Fédération égyptienne de Football (FEF), Samir Zaher, a révélé que l'Egypte présentera sa candidature pour accueillir la Coupe des Confédérations 2007. ‘Nous allons demander à organiser la Coupe des Confédérations 2007 et ceci après avoir remporté la CAN 2006. Nous allons aussi discuter de renouvellement des contrats du staff technique.' A déclaré Samir Zaher à filgoal.com. Le président a révélé que l'Egypte a reçu plusieurs offres de jeu récemment de la part de l'Espagne, le Mexique, l'Ukraine, la Roumanie, la Bulgarie et la Slovaquie. ‘Nous allons essayer de jouer un match par mois contre une formation européenne afin de profiter au maximum de cet événement.' A il ajouté.
