Cairo International Stadium officials sent an official protest to the African Cup of Nations (ACN) organizing committee against Libya's fans, who destroyed the seats they were assigned to during their side's match against Ivory Coast. The stadium officials sent the complaint to the organizing committee so they could take the decisions they see fit after the fans havocked the newly-renovated stadium, an official source told Filgoal.com after the match. The Libyan fans broke the seats and threw them at the Egyptian fans in the Egypt and Morocco match's half-time break, even though the Egyptians backed Libya in their match against Ivory Coast. Egyptian security forces were forced to interfere only minutes after the wrecking begun and cleared out the Libyans from the stadium. Libyan Football Federation (LFF) were handed a $5,000 fine earlier after their fans chanted against Egypt in their side's opening match against the Pharaohs.
