Zamalek board of directors has appointed a new technical staff for the football team in their meeting on Sunday night. Ahmed Ramzi has been appointed assistant coach, Essam Marie as trainer and Samir Mohamed Ali for goalkeeping coach following the departure of the previous coaching staff hired by former club president Mortada Mansour. The new coaching staff did not include a head coach after the team's former Portuguese manager Eduardo Manuel Martinho Vingada "Nelo" turned down an offer to return. Zamalek interim president Morsi Attallah said that Vingada apologized due to his commitment to Portuguese side Academica Coimbra. The newly appointed board did not announce the names of the football director and the members of the new medical team. Zamalek's efforts to sign Polish-born coach Henry Kasperczak came to a dead end after the former Tunisia boss demanded a $50,000 monthly salary. The team is set to name the new manager within the next week.
