Al-ARISH(Egypt) - Egyptian security officials said Monday they did not believe the rockets which fell near Eilat and in Aqaba were fired from the Sinai Peninsula. The officials, who requested anonymity as they were not authorised to speak to the media, also denied the presence of any militant organisations in the Sinai. While the Egyptian military has a presence in Sinai and staff checkpoints along roads,1979 peace deal with Israel limits the number of troops it can deploy in the peninsula, restricting security efforts.
