CAIRO, Sept 10, 2018 (MENA) - Egypt and the United States, represented in the USAID, Monday signed here an agreement on the 2nd phase of developing the infrastructure in seven rural areas through grants worth $65 million. The agreement, signed by Minister of Investment and International Cooperation Sahar Nasr and USAID Mission Director Sherry Carlin, includes promoting the infrastructure in rural areas including Upper Egyptian governorates, namely Assiut, Sohag, Qena, Luxor, Aswan, Beni Sueif, and Menia. The agreement features improving water treatment, replacing old pipelines and establishing sanitation services in rural areas. The project will serve around 1.1 million people in implementation of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's directions to upgrade the national infrastructure, Nasr said.
