By Ashraf Sadek CAIRO, August 7, 2018 – Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, left Cairo on Tuesday after wrapping up a brief official visit to Egypt during which he held talks with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi that focused on regional issues of bilateral concern and ways of enhancing Egyptian-ties in all domains. During his talks with Sheikh Mohammed, President Sisi praised the genuine fraternity that binds Egypt and the United Arab Emirates. President Sisi, who welcomed Sheikh Mohammed at Cairo International Airport, described the Egyptian-UAE ties as "an ideal example of positive inter-Arab co-operation that would boost joint Arab action," Presidency Spokesman Ambassador Bassam Radi said in his roundup of the meeting. Sheikh Mohammed confirmed his country's interest in strengthening the exemplary and strategic relations with Egypt in various fields in addition to pushing forward co-operation in a way that fulfilled the interests of the Egyptian and Emirati peoples. "The UAE fully appreciates its historic and strategic ties with Egypt, which are based on mutual respect and interests. These relations seek to promote Arab solidarity and joint action with the aim of enhancing regional security and stability," Ambassador Radi quoted Sheikh Mohammed as telling President Sisi during their talks. The top UAE official also asserted his country's appreciation of the key role played by Egypt at the Arab and regional levels in the service of common Arab causes. Ambassador Radi said that the Sisi-Sheikh Mohammed talks dealt with ways of enhancing bilateral relations in all domains and the latest developments pertaining to the Arab scene. The meeting, the spokesman noted, included a review of the overall co-operation between the two countries. They also agreed on the importance of the two countries working on developing co-operation, especially at the economic and trade levels to serve the interests of the Egyptian and Emirati peoples, Spokesman Radi said. He added that the talks also dealt with the latest regional developments which, President Sisi and Sheikh Mohammed agreed, require consolidating the mechanisms for coordination and consultation in support of national Arab security. Ambassador Radi said that President Sisi and Sheikh Mohammed reviewed the sequence of developments in the region and the effects of such developments on the stability of the Arab countries and their peoples. The talks focused on the overall scene in the Arab region and the challenges being faced, Ambassador Radi said. He added that President Sisi and Sheikh Mohammed rejected foreign interference in Arab affairs and fully supported political efforts to settle the regional crises. President Sisi and the senior UAE official also asserted their keenness on continued consultation and coordination over the situation in the region which behooved the Arab countries to act to protect national Arab security and solidarity in the face of various challenges, Ambassador Radi said. Sheikh Mohammed was accompanied by Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, Dr Anwar Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ali Al Shamsi, Deputy Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for National Security, Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Under-Secretary of the Crown Prince Court of Abu Dhabi, and Juma Al Junaibi, the UAE Ambassador to Egypt.
