CAIRO, June 25, 2018 (MENA) - Egypt's Health and Population Minister Dr Hala Zayed discussed on Monday with Head of the Coptic Orthodox Church Pope Tawadros II developing cooperation in the medical domain. Zayed expressed thanks for the Church's efforts to alleviate burdens on Egyptian patients through its contributions to carrying out major medical operations to reduce waiting lists at hospitals. She expressed readiness to send medical convoys to needy areas set by the Church. Zayed said she will focus within the coming period on training doctors, providing a suitable working environment for them and re-building trust between doctors and patients before the application of the new medical insurance system. The pontiff reviewed service projects carried out by the Church to offer medical care to citizens, including "Sehati" project that aims at building seven hospitals in seven areas. The first of these hospitals was set up in Sharqiya governorate, he noted.
