LONDON, May 19, 2018 (MENA) - The British government welcomed on Saturday Egypt's decision to open Rafah crossing throughout the holy month of Ramadan. The British Foreign and Commonwealth Office said on its twitter account that British Minister of Middle East Affairs Alistair Burt strongly welcomes Egypt's announcement that the Rafah Crossing between Gaza and Egypt will be opened throughout Ramadan. He described this as vital to improve the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza. Earlier, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi said on his Facebook account that he gave instructions to keep the Rafah crossing open throughout Ramadan to ease the burden on Palestinians. The Egyptian Red Crescent sent medical and food aid to the Gaza Strip.
