RAMALLAH, March 28 (MENA) - Israeli forces detained on Wednesday 20 Palestinians from across the West Bank during predawn raids, according to the Palestinian Prisoner's Society (PPS). It said in a statement that Israeli troops detained five Palestinians from Tulkarm, three from Nablus and two from Tubas in the northern West Bank after raiding their homes and ransacking them. Four Palestinians were detained from Ramallah and Al-Bireh in the central West Bank, in addition to one from Qalandia refugee camp to the north of Jerusalem. Meanwhile, Israeli troops raided Hebron, to the south of the West Bank, and detained one Palestinian. Israeli forces also raided a house in Beit Anan in northern Al Quds city. Israeli authorities also Wednesday demolished several structures in the village of Al-Walja, northwest of the city of Bethlehem in the occupied West Bank, according to a local source. Ibrahim Awadallah, a local activist, said that Israeli forces raided the area of Ein Al-Jowaiza, to the north of the village, and demolished a 180-square meter home that was still under construction belonging to Nader Abu Khiyara. He said forces also demolished a graveyard that belonged to the family of Abed Rabbo, and retaining walls, which belonged to Fayez Omar. The structures were demolished after Israeli forces claimed they were built without a permit. Awadallah noted that Israeli authorities handed notices to those whose properties were demolished, stressing that the village has been a target for several demolition campaigns, in an attempt to expel the Palestinians residents in it in favor of settlers.
