Death toll reaches 10 including 3 children in Israel's aggression on Jenin
Published in Daily News Egypt on 05 - 07 - 2023

The Israeli aggression on Jenin has left 10 people dead and 100 wounded, including 20 in serious condition, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health. The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs said that 3 children were among those killed in the Israeli military operation.
The UN Humanitarian Coordinator in the Palestinian Territories, Lynn Hastings, said that the electricity and water facilities in Jenin were completely destroyed. It indicated that civilians in Jenin sought refuge in hospitals in search of security and that one of the hospitals in the city was attacked by the Israeli occupation forces.
On Monday, the Israeli occupation forces launched an attack on Jenin in the occupied West Bank, which is the largest since 2002, and the Israeli aggression continues until now.
The Palestinian Red Crescent said that its crews were able to get about 3,000 Palestinians out of Jenin camp, despite the destruction of the roads as a result of the occupation army's destruction of them. On the other hand, the Israeli army spokesperson said that the reports of the Jenin refugee camp being evacuated were incorrect.
At the same time, the Palestinian resistance factions vowed to respond to the Israeli aggression and stressed that if the occupation forces stormed the Jenin camp, it would pay an unexpected price, while the government of the Israeli occupation said that it was anticipating that the Palestinian factions would launch rockets from the Gaza Strip.
Meanwhile, the Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad Movement, said that its Jenin battalion responded to a new incursion into the camp, and the battalion added that its fighters were engaged in intense clashes with the occupation army and detonated a number of explosive devices.
Moreover, the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), stated that the ambushes of its fighters "caught the occupation soldiers and its mechanisms in a precise and direct manner in the Jenin camp on Monday evening and Tuesday morning."
On the other hand, the official radio of Israel reported that the army is preparing to end its offensive in Jenin "unless new developments occur," while the Israeli Prime Minister held a meeting to conduct a security assessment of the situation in Jenin.
The occupation army said that it plans to raid what it called 10 remaining "terrorist targets" in the Jenin camp, and added that the air force had raided 20 targets in Jenin since the beginning of the aggression. The occupation army has also arrested 120 Palestinians during the ongoing operation in Jenin.
