Al-Sisi, Al-Sudani discuss boosting relations between Egypt, Iraq

Egypt's President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi received Prime Minister of Iraq Mohammed Al-Sudani in Cairo on Sunday to discuss bilateral relations between the two countries.
During the meeting, President Al-Sisi affirmed Egypt's support for the security and stability of Iraq, and pride in the strategic relations between the two countries, referring to the firm constants of the Egyptian policy with regard to supporting Iraq and providing full support to the Iraqi people at various levels, especially in combating terrorism and consolidating security and stability.
The meeting was held in the presence of Mustafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, Sameh Shoukry, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abbas Kamel, Head of General Intelligence, Ahmed Samir, Minister of Trade and Industry, and from the Iraqi side, Fouad Hussein, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Atheer Dawood, Minister of Commerce, and Ahmed Al-Dulaimi, Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq in Cairo.
Al-Sisi also expressed Egypt's keenness to activate and diversify the frameworks of joint bilateral cooperation in various political, economic, commercial and cultural fields, and to accelerate the implementation of joint projects between the two countries, according to the needs of the Iraqi people, in a way that enhances integration between the two sides and achieves common development goals, in addition to continuing work within the framework of Tripartite cooperation mechanism with the sister Kingdom of Jordan.
For his part, the Iraqi Prime Minister praised the close and historical fraternal ties that unite the two countries, expressing his appreciation for the Egyptian efforts in support of Iraq at all levels, according to Ahmed Fahmy, the official spokesperson for the Presidency of the Republic.
Al-Sudani also stressed Iraq's keenness to strengthen the established frameworks of bilateral cooperation with Egypt and explore mechanisms to push it to broader horizons and benefit from Egyptian competencies in various fields, especially In light of the prominent Egyptian role in strengthening the mechanisms of joint Arab action in facing the current crises and challenges in the region.
Fahmy added that the meeting also witnessed an exchange of views on a number of Arab and regional issues of common interest, as the two sides agreed on the importance of continuing intensive coordination to address the challenges facing the region, in order to achieve the aspirations of its peoples to live in peace and stability.
