Egypt's PM visits Daqahleya to inspect projects of the Decent Life Presidential Initiative

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly visited Dakahleya on Saturday to inspect the projects being implemented in the villages of the governorate as part of the Decent Life Presidential Initiative to develop the Egyptian countryside.
Madbouly was accompanied on the tour by Minister of Local Development Mahmoud Shaarawy, Governor of Dakahleya Ayman Mokhtar, and other officials.
The PM began his tour in the Sherbeen Centre, where he stressed that the state is remains adamant in its efforts to implement the initiative despite all the difficulties and challenges facing the country due to global crises and turmoil.
He pointed out that "the repercussions of the Russian-Ukrainian War have affected all countries, however, Egypt has succeeded in withstanding these challenges thanks to the economic reforms it implemented in recent years, which made it more able to confront these crises."
Madbouly then listened to a presentation on the executive status of the projects included in the first phase of the initiative that encompass Sherbeen Centre and the villages in its jurisdiction.
The PM was also briefed on the completion rates of the various projects in the region, especially those related to drinkable water, which have an average completion rate of 96.4%.
The initiative aims to develop 26 villages and 278 dependents in the area within the scope of the Second Field Army. The world will encompass eight mother villages, 18 sub-villages, and a number of vassals. It is worth noting that Sherbeen Centre has an estimated population of 500,000 people.
It also aims to implement 237 projects in various fields, broken down to 31 pertaining to drinkable water, 36 targeting sanitation, 31 for health, 24 for youths and sports, 11 related to social solidarity, eight targeting local development, 36 tackling irrigation, eight for agriculture, 26 for electricity, and 26 to establish a road network.
