Egypt's Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly has asserted that Egypt is working to improve the level of medical services provided to citizens through implementing the comprehensive health insurance system.
Madbouly's remarks came during his visit to Suez governorate on Saturday. He asserted that establishing the Suez medical complex is planned to be finished by next March at a total cost of EGP 2.4bn.
Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Acting Minister of Health, Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, presented the latest developments of the comprehensive health insurance system in Suez, pointing out that health and treatment services will be provided through 34 health facilities divided into units, centers and hospitals.
Abdel Ghaffar said the ministry is also working to establish an emergency hospital in Ain Sokhna.
Moreover, Madbouly inspected the housing units launched as part of the presidential initiative, "Housing for All Egyptians", which aims to provide 25,000 housing units in Suez governorate.
The Prime Minister met with members of the House of Representatives and the Senate at Suez governorate.
During his meeting with the governorate's representatives in the parliament, Madbouly pointed out that this is his second visit to Suez since he took charge, and over the past period there has been a strong focus on implementing a large number of projects through constant communication with the Governor of Suez to follow up the volume of projects and investments that have been allocated.
The Prime Minister said there was a focus on a number of issues, mainly launching sewage projects, raising the efficiency of roads and the Corniche, supporting industrial development, and providing job opportunities for young people.
The Prime Minister said that Suez is an urban governorate, however, it includes a number of villages as well, which will be targeted in the ongoing development process, within the presidential initiative "Decent Life" to develop the Egyptian countryside.
The parliamentarians requested an increase in the financial appropriations for the development and service projects in the governorate.
