Hamza ruined Helsingborg move: agent
Published in Daily News Egypt on 13 - 04 - 2009

CAIRO: Hamza s decision to go on trial with Vasalund IF dashed his hopes of joining Swedish giants Helsingborg, according to agent Jonas Selim.
Selim, who represents Swedish/Egyptian agency IFAS, revealed that Helsingborg were seriously interested in the Zamalek striker, but the move fell through as the latter opted to go on trial with the second division side last month.
We can confirm there was interest in Hamza from Helsingborg and something could have happened in the summer, Selim told FilGoal.com.
But after Hamza traveled by himself for a trial with another club (Vasalund) without telling us, his chances of joining Helsingborg were gone.
After reading the news of Hamza s trial with Vasalund in Sweden, we had to tell Helsingborg to forget about him because he will sign with another club.
We were working with Hamza and it was a surprise to see him traveling to Sweden without telling us. He confused us.
Apart from missing out on the Helsingborg move, Hamza s trial has also provoked dissatisfaction from Zamalek, who blocked his Vasalund transfer.
The 27-year-old, whose contract runs out this summer, has been absent from training without permission during the past few days.
Selim also declared that he was in contact with Ahly forward Hani Al-Egeizy, before he joined the African champions last season, in an unsuccessful attempt to help him seal a move to Europe.
We gave a chance for Hani Al-Egeizi to start a career in Europe, but he chose Ahly, only to sit on the bench there, added the Egyptian-born agent.
Egyptian players are really difficult to work with because their mentality is different from European players.
Selim indicated that he will travel to Egypt in the summer, in hopes of finding a promising player for the Swedish league.
