CAIRO: Zamalek have denied on Saturday reports that midfielder Alaa Abdel Ghani is suffering from a chronic knee injury. The energetic midfielder has been sidelined for long periods and suffered several setbacks on the road to recovery due to a persistent knee problem. Abdel Ghani s injury can be healed with medicines, Zamalek doctor Mostafa Al-Monairi told the club s website. One can t play if he suffers a chronic injury, and this isn t the case with Abdel Ghani. Ahmed Magdi partnered with Ahmed Abdel Raouf in the heart of Zamalek s midfield, but none of them managed to impress. The Cairo giants are aiming to keep hold of Abdel Ghani as they began talks with the 28-year-old to extend his contract.
